So there's this guy named Landon Donovan

US win streak goes to a record nine: 5-1 over El Salvador in the Gold Cup quarters.  Lando was the man today, Cloud City style, playing a role in pretty much all five US goals.  Anyone who thinks (barring injury) he isn't going to Brazil, and starting, is nuts.

At the beginning of this year, like a lot of folks, I really had doubts about Klinsmann on a number of levels, but he's got the USMNT playing assertive, confident soccer, and it's truly fun to watch.  Plus it seems like his mind games with Altidore and Donovan worked perfectly.

It will be an absolutely colossal disappointment if we don't win the Gold Cup.  We've been the best team in the tourney by far.  And the most exciting.  And the best-coached.
