It's tough to even know what to say after things like a lifeless 2-0 loss to Portsmouth. Those guys aren't even getting paid on time, they're at the bottom of the table, and they're beating us.

We're a total mess. Selling Alonso was a disaster, and I still don't believe he leaves if Benitez hadn't totally mishandled the Barry situation a few summers back. It appears to me that Benitez has lost the team. He's always had the personality of a cactus, but his tactical skills and European results were enough to excuse his other shortcomings. No longer.

I'm not sure what the solution is, because I don't quite understand the financial hit if he leaves, nor do I have any serious suggestions as to who should replace him. But I cannot accept that a team with Liverpool's talent can look this bad this often. Something's got to change.
