Liverpool beat Toulouse in CL qualifying 1-0. It was mega-hot in Toulouse, so it's nice to see the lads are fit enough to overcome challenging conditions. Gerrard was taken off at 68, to give him a little rest in advance of Sunday's 10am CT match against Chelsea. Although it's on FSC, I'll be watching at Trinity Hall, Dallas' premier soccer bar.

Two bits of good news: Pool beat Villa 2-1 on a late free-kick cracker by Gerrard, and Sunil has finally bigged up and scheduled a September 9 friendly against Brazil. I really hope Bradley and the USSF take this game seriously. Seeing our "A" team play against Brazil would be fun to watch, and extremely useful for every USMNT player's development, even the experienced ones. As for sending a B team to get creamed -- didn't we just see a summer of that?

Also, Wayne Rooney broke his foot against Reading and is out for two months. Poor ManU -- now Tevez will start. Tevez, in my view, is better than Rooney.
